Happy Friday and Happy Newsletter Day!
This week I have been into the show Suits. It's on Netflix and stars Meghan Markle; it is super weird seeing her act knowing she is now the Duchess of Sussex!
I like this show a lot because it centers around lawyers which is a very different career in some regards to physical therapy! If you need a new show that gives off early 2000s vibes, I highly recommend.
Weekly perspective
Don't Skip the Process
Everyone wants the outcome. Very few people want the years it takes to earn it.
Whether it's getting stronger, recovering from an injury, building a business, or becoming great at your profession, we often underestimate how much repetition is required. We see someone's confidence and assume it came naturally, when in reality it's usually the result of thousands of quiet repetitions that nobody ever noticed.
One of my favorite parts of this week's podcast was the idea that mastery isn't about knowing everything. It's about connecting enough experiences that your decisions become more instinctive. That only happens by showing up, making mistakes, learning from them, and doing it again.
The encouraging part is that nobody starts as an expert. Every person you admire was once the beginner asking questions, making mistakes, and wondering if they were making any progress at all.
The goal isn't to skip the process. The goal is to stay in it long enough that one day you realize you're becoming the person others come to for advice.
Exercise of the week
Dumbbell Hip Thrust
Who it's for: Anyone looking to build stronger glutes, improve lower body strength, or support healthier hips and lower back.
Why it matters: Strong glutes play a huge role in walking, running, lifting, and reducing unnecessary stress on the knees and low back. The hip thrust is one of the best exercises to target them directly.
Coaching cues: Keep your chin slightly tucked and drive through your heels as you lift. At the top, squeeze your glutes without overextending your lower back.
Common mistake: Turning the movement into a back extension instead of a hip extension. If you feel it mostly in your low back, reset and focus on squeezing your glutes to finish each rep.
Healthy tip of the week
Learn Something New
Learn something that has nothing to do with work.
Pick one new skill you've always been curious about and spend just ten minutes a day learning it. It could be baking cookies, learning how to take care of a new plant, photography, a new language, or even playing an instrument.
Learning something new challenges your brain in different ways, builds confidence, and reminds you what it feels like to be a beginner. That mindset carries over into every other area of life, making it easier to embrace growth instead of avoiding it.

What is the WHS Team Up to?
I like to get our staff involved in this newsletter because I think its fun! So here are some updates.
Alicia has been taking every opportunity to get outside with her dog, Koa. If you haven't seen a picture of him yet, be sure to ask because he's as adorable as advertised.
Courtney is finally enjoying her brand new patio after what felt like a never ending project.
Gary has been dealing with an unexpected homeowner adventure after what he describes as his house "exploded," so you'll have to ask him for the full story.
And we're all excited to cheer on Ava as she performs at the Boston Center for the Arts this weekend!
We are very lucky to have such a cool team!
