Happy Friday and Happy Newsletter Day!
There is always something new in health and fitness.
Something promising faster recovery. Less pain. Better results.
This week brought one of those conversations back to the surface.
Weekly perspective
Beyond The Peptide
Peptides are having a moment right now.
Patients are asking about them. Athletes are experimenting with them. Social media is full of bold claims about faster healing and better performance.
And to be fair, some of it is interesting.
The idea that we can support the body’s natural healing process at a higher level is worth paying attention to. Especially for people dealing with stubborn injuries that just do not seem to fully resolve.
But this is where things can get blurry.
When someone starts a new intervention and begins to feel better, it is easy to give all the credit to that one thing. The peptide. The supplement. The new tool.
What gets missed is everything else that is happening at the same time.
They are moving better. Training more consistently. Sleeping a little more. Actually following through on their rehab plan.
Healing is rarely one variable.
In the clinic, we stay grounded in that idea. We are always asking what is actually driving progress. What is repeatable. What builds long term capacity.
New tools can have a place. But they should never replace the foundation.
Strength. Movement. Consistency. Communication.
If something helps, great. We will use it. But we are not chasing shortcuts.
We are building people who can handle more.
Exercise of the week
Half-Kneeling Single Arm Dumbbell Press
Who it is for
Anyone who wants to build upper body strength while improving core stability and shoulder control.
Why it matters
This position ties your shoulder strength to your trunk and hips. It teaches you to press without losing control through your spine.
Coaching cues
Squeeze the glute of the down knee.
Keep your ribs stacked over your hips as you press.
Common mistake
Leaning back and turning it into a low back arch instead of a true overhead press.
Start light. Own the position. Then build from there.
Healthy tip of the week
Tip: Win the Morning
Do one hard thing early in the day.
It could be a lift. A walk. Ten minutes of mobility. A real breakfast instead of grabbing whatever is easy. Even drinking a glass of water before the cup of coffee!
Momentum matters.
When you win the morning, you are more likely to win the day.
Small early effort often prevents late day regret.

Home Renovations!
Make sure to ask Courtney about her latest home renovation! As the summer nears, Courtney decided she needs a patio in her backyard to attempt to get as tan as Jianna 😏
It is that time of year where lots of our clients are getting their lawns and gardens ready for the summer. We have people planting flowers, building greenhouses and getting their blueberry bushes ready!
Make sure that if you harvest some vegetables you bring some in for Peter and if you make some desserts with your fruits you bring some in for Gary!
Jianna mentioned this week's Different Life podcast episode. Want to hear it?
